Biography:Helen E. Johnson was born August 29, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the first child born to Vernon Johnson and Joyce Marie (Barnett) Johnson. As a young child Helen attended First Baptist Church in Luther, Oklahoma, where she came to know her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She would relocate to Spencer, Oklahoma, where she attended Dungee Middle School and Star Spencer High School. Helen was employed in her early years at Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City in food service. One of her favorite pastimes was making ceramic pieces. She was a kind hearted person who was full of life and love and never met a stranger. She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful cook and for her ‘gift of gab’ along with her loving spirit. She spent the last 25 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Victory Christian Church and did volunteer work at the Crossroads Community Center. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, a grandchild, Daniel Johnson and grandmother, Irene Barnett. Helen leaves to mourn her three children, two daughters: Marraneshia Johnson (Dean), of Oklahoma City, Joycelyn A. Johnson Barnett, Meeker, Oklahoma, and a son, RayTjuan Edwards of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Three siblings: Edward Leroy Johnson, Carole Kirkwood (Jerry), and Dale A. Knighten; grandchildren: De’Tjuan, Le’Deysia, Tai’Zjhan, Te’Neysia, Shon’Teysia and Micah Rai; her loving stepmother, Mary Johnson and a half- brother Lonnie McFadden; aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, cousins, and friends.
