Andre Watkins Obituary

Andre L. Watkins was born February 11, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Priscilla Jean Redmond and Willie Cyrus. He departed this life on April 15, 2020.

Andre accepted Christ at an early age at the Unity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended Douglass High School in Oklahoma City from the 10th through 12th grade. He graduated from Douglass High School in 1973.

Andre met Doris Walker in high school, and they were the light of each other's lives. They were together for a very long time. During their union, they had one son, Lamario Walker who was born in 1982. He loved his son very much.

Andre worked at J&B Battle uniform Company for 30 years and later retired from there as a Seamstress. He was a very hard worker who excelled in all that he did. He also enjoyed spending time with loved ones and was always full of laughter. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Andre loved to take photos to capture special moments with family and friends. He was the glue that held the family together and will be truly missed.

Andre Watkins was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Jean Redmond; father, Willie Cyrus; grandmother, Lula Mae Harper; grandfather, James Harper; brother, Ivan Rhone.

Andre is survived by his son, Lamario Walker; sister, Glenda (Anthony); brother, Terrance Redmond; brother, Ronald Watkins; brother, Venson Mason; niece, Ebonie Rhone; niece Teeamira Wilson; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
