Antjuan Martin Obituary

Antjuan Lamarr Martin Sr., affectionately known as “Big Tjuan” and “Little Tiny,” passed away on August 30, 2025, at his home in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 52. Born on October 8, 1972, in Oklahoma City to the late Joel Parker and Theresa Martin, Antjuan’s life was rooted in faith, family, and service.

Antjuan began his journey; his education at Corpus Christi Catholic School and Longfellow Elementary, continued through Harding Middle School, and NW Classen High School, ultimately graduating from Southeast High School. He went on to earn a football scholarship to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1991. Later, he pursued studies in Corrections at Victor Valley Community College (1997) and Eastern Oklahoma State University (2005).

A devoted man of faith, Antjuan served in various church communities throughout his life. As a youth, he was active in Sunny Lane Baptist Church and Divine Guidance Assembly-Faith. In adulthood, he fellowshipped with GAP Ministries and Greater Canon Baptist Church. He eventually answered the call to ministry and was ordained under Rev. John N. Holmes. His first sermon, titled "Men of God Rejected," marked the beginning of his journey in the ministry. His final church home was Bethlehem Baptist Church of Oklahoma under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Payne.

One of Antjuan’s proudest achievements was becoming an entrepreneur. In 2008, he founded Thunder and Lightning Protection and Marketing, LLC, guided by the principles of “Loyalty, Honor, Respect, and Integrity.” In 2021, he launched Boley in the City, a freight carrier service inspired by his motto: “City boy with country values.” His first driver was his beloved uncle, Vaughn Willis.

His final and perhaps most cherished venture came in 2023 with Big Bodyz Smoke Meats, LLC—known for the tagline “A Tiny Taste Goes a Long Way.” His signature dishes included mouth-watering ribs, smoked egg rolls, and his wife’s renowned smoked cabbage. Antjuan took joy in watching others enjoy his cooking.

In 2018, Antjuan met the love of his life, Luvanique Douglas. They married in 2019, and to this union were added three children: Gerri’ka Holliay, Sklyarr Yearby, and Bryce Yearby.

Antjuan was preceded in death by his father, Joel Parker; brothers: the twins Jemelle & Joel Parker, Kevinez Parker, and Victor McCarrell; grandparents: Elijah B. Martin Jr. and Nancy Martin; and uncles: Frank Jr., Charles, George Parker, Victor, Edward, Elijah III, and Wayne Martin.

His legacy continues through his loving wife, Luvanique Martin; his mother, Theresa Martin-Laye; his sons: Antjuan Jr. and Joseph; and daughter, Eliah (with Terressa Perkins). He also leaves behind daughters Raimeisha Rodgers and Ebony McCloud, and sons Bruce, Peter, Albert Jr., Victor, and Deveon McCloud (with Schelisa “Joy” Martin).

His youngest children, who lived with him and whom he held especially dear, are Sklyarr and Bryce Yearby.

He is also survived by his sisters: Shaunt’e (Marcus) Reeves, Nancy Nolan, Yarral Laye, and Elizabeth Gillispie; brothers: Deneoval-Derrick Parker and Anthony McCarrell: grandchildren: Kaydence, Rian Martin, Zyra, Xena Dooney, Salina, Daniel, Xaiyuri, Xofia, Inann-Dkyng Immanuel, Ava Cornejo, Roxann, Remiah, and Raven Robinson. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
