With hearts full of gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the remarkable journey of Mrs. Brenda Joyce Kelley, whose unwavering love, compassionate spirit, and joyful presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. On May 29, 2026, Brenda peacefully transitioned from labor to reward, surrounded by the love of her family. While we grieve her earthly absence, we rejoice in the countless memories she leaves behind and the enduring legacy she has entrusted to those she loved.

Brenda Joyce Kelley was born on July 22, 1949, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to the late Jessie Kelley and Hilda Sloan Kelley. From an early age, Brenda embodied resilience, kindness, and a nurturing spirit that would become the hallmark of her life's work and relationships. She attended Preston High School, where the foundations of her warm personality and strong values continued to blossom.

Her life's journey led her to Kansas City, Kansas, where she established roots and built cherished friendships before eventually returning home to Oklahoma. She later settled in Oklahoma City, where she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and supporting her family.

Brenda was a woman of extraordinary compassion. Throughout her career, she served faithfully in several capacities, including positions with Western Electric and Walmart. Yet, it was her work as a caregiver that most reflected the essence of who she was. Caring for others was never simply a profession for Brenda—it was her ministry. Whether offering encouragement, extending a helping hand, or simply sitting beside someone in need, Brenda gave of herself freely and without reservation.

Faith played a significant role throughout Brenda's life. During her years in Kansas City, she worshiped at Our Lady of St. Rose Catholic Church. Upon returning to Okmulgee, she attended Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church. Later, alongside her beloved children, she became a member of St. John CME Church in Spencer, Oklahoma. In every congregation she joined, Brenda cultivated lasting friendships and demonstrated her commitment to serving God through service to others.

Above all else, Brenda treasured her family. She was the heart of every gathering, the voice of wisdom during difficult times, and the biggest cheerleader in moments of celebration. Her love knew no boundaries, and she possessed a remarkable gift for making everyone she encountered feel seen, valued, and embraced.

Brenda found immense joy in watching her family grow and thrive. She celebrated every accomplishment, offered comfort through every trial, and reminded those she loved that family was life's greatest blessing. Her laughter filled rooms, her smile warmed hearts, and her presence brought peace and reassurance.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jessie Kelley and Hilda Sloan Kelley; and her siblings, David Kelley, Jamie Kelley, Alfred "Bubba" Kelley, Jessie "Jabbie" Kelley, Eula Sisco, Elsie Canady, Wilma Kelley, and Margaret Kelley, all of whom welcomed her into eternal rest.

Though her earthly chapter has closed, Brenda's story continues through the lives of those she loved so deeply. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted sister, Billie McDowell; her loving children, Arthur Harrison (Armisha), Latoya Cooper (Cory), and Timothy Cooper (Ariel); and her adored grandchildren, Jawuan, Adren, Samaya, Arthur Jr., Addisyn, and Ayden. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed by her generosity, wisdom, and unconditional love.

As we remember Brenda Joyce Kelley, let us not focus solely on the sorrow of goodbye, but rather celebrate the extraordinary gift of her life. She taught us how to love deeply, serve faithfully, laugh often, and extend grace generously. Her example reminds us that the greatest measure of a life is found in the love we share with others.

Today, we rejoice in knowing that Brenda has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Her work here is complete, her crown has been won, and her spirit now rests in eternal peace.

Brenda's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. Though she is no longer physically present among us, her legacy lives on—in every act of kindness inspired by her example, every family tradition she helped create, and every heart she touched along the way.
