In Loving Memory of Calvin Louis Oliver
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calvin Louis Oliver, affectionately known as "Moe," on January 11,2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. Born on October 2, 1957, Calvin was the second child and only son of Alvin Louis Oliver and Novella Oliver.
Calvin's early years were shaped in Spencer, Oklahoma, where he attended elementary school and later graduated from Star Spencer High School. A cherished childhood memory for Calvin was visiting his Uncle Tad and Aunt Frankie Jenkins in Boley, Oklahoma. He found joy in those visits, enjoying the warmth of family and the close-knit community.
Passionate about music and a skilled domino player, Calvin had a zest for life that endeared him to all who knew him. His dedication and hard work led him to employment at OU Hospital and later with the Board of Education, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and service.
On July 15, 1982, Calvin married the love of his life, Brenda Cole. Their union blessed them with a son, Mardell Oliver. Family was at the center of Calvin's world, and he found immense joy in the roles of husband and father.
During his life, Calvin faced challenges, but his spirit remained resilient. His journey touched the lives of many, and his absence leaves a void that can only be filled with the memories of the love and laughter he shared.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Novella Oliver, and one sister, Sarah Mae Hill. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Oliver, his son Mardell Oliver, stepson Robert Cole, and sister Sylvia Diane Oliver. Calvin will be remembered fondly by his nephew Franklin Smith, nieces Donesha Williams and Novella Smith, as well as nine grandchildren, six great-nieces, six great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
