Chris Davis was the 6th child of 8 children born to Charlene (Harnsberry) Davis on February 7, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His dad was the late Tommy Davis who was from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Taking pride in being born into a large close-knit family such as The Harnsberry Family, majority of his life was spent with siblings and cousins, and then there was his nieces! Chris was 61 years old.
Chris attended Oklahoma City Public Schools, including Harding Middle and Northeast High Schools. He also attended Pontiac Northern High School in Pontiac Michigan. During the short time he lived in Pontiac, he also worked for General Motors. This is where he became a father for the first time. His daughter, Atallahia Lynn Walls was born to Chris and Blanche August 8, 1979 and passed away on December 3rd the same year.
Chris was a kid at heart at times, and he loved the children! And children loved him too! He onced had 2 dogs, one named Prince and the other was named Mary Jane!
He worked many odd jobs. He worked at the Oklahoma County Fair for a few years and would tell funny stories while working there, especially about working with the elephants! He was a great handyman and could do some remodeling and didn’t mind helping family move and would get things done. He oftentimes worked alongside his cousin Anthony who is an electrician. He would make himself available most anytime he was asked to help with anything. He would cook and could really clean.
Chris met “Pinky” Whitehorn and daughter Chisa in the early 80’s. They were blessed in their relationship with their sons, Chris “Lil’C” and Coi, the youngest. Chisa is and has been a part of our family from day one.
Chris was covered in much prayer for many years. His daughter, parents, grandparents Mamie and Thomas Harnsberry and his sister Linda Renfrow Pierce precedes him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories, his sons Chris Whitehorn, Coi Whitehorn, his brothers, Melvin Renfrow (Joyce) and Charles Renfrow (Bessie), both of Pontiac, Michigan, Kenneth Renfrow and Terry Davis Sr. both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sisters Toni Butler (Monroe) of Spencer, Oklahoma and Tori “Babe” Petway (William) also of Pontiac, Michigan. He was affectionately called “PawPaw” by his grand babies who he loved. He will be sorely missed by his long-time companion, Pat Jones and step daughters, Raven Barnes, Brittany Jones, Chisa Harris and Tamara Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
