On April 25, 1963, God blessed David and Nilar Norton with a handsome baby boy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, named Delwyn Jerron Norton.
Delwyn received his formal education from Oklahoma City Public Schools. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1981. He then went immediately to the United States Marines, which took him to Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California. He returned to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after serving four years.
Delwyn was a self-starter, very friendly and personable. He never met a stranger and is known by many throughout the Oklahoma City metro area. Somewhere throughout the years, he adopted the nickname “Shorty” even though he had a larger than life personality.
At an early age, Delwyn accepted Christ and was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City where he took communion and was an Altar Boy. He was also legally given the name Paul, after one of Jesus’ Apostles, by the church.
Delwyn was preceded in death by his grandmother, Paralee Warren; his grandfather, Willie J. Sherman; his father, David Norton; and his mother, Nilar Rae Norton.
Delwyn Jerron “Paul” Norton leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Tenecca L. Humdy of Mesquite, Texas; his brother, David G. Norton of Fort Worth, Texas; his brother, Michael D. Norton of Elwood, Illinois; his brother, Timothy A. Norton of San Diego, California; his sister, Patricia V. Norton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his grandson, DaQualin J. Norton of Orlando, Florida, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
