Dewene Ann Wilson, a radiant soul of creativity and love, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1953, Dewene was the beloved daughter of Duane Beard and Mary Beard.

Dewene was a proud graduate of McClain High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Class of 1972. Her artistic abilities shone brightly from an early age, encompassing a wide array of talents including artistry, decoration, event planning, interior design, and floral arrangements. Her creativity flourished, becoming a source of joy and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to witness it.

For 31 years, Dewene dedicated herself to Walmart, where she held various managerial positions until her retirement in early 2021. Her commitment and hard work left an indelible mark on the company, reflecting her passion and dedication.

In 1977, Dewene's life was forever changed when she met Darrall. They shared a beautiful union, exchanging vows in 1979, and were blessed with two daughters. Dewene's devotion to her family was unwavering, and the love they shared was a testament to the strength of their bond.

Dewene's faith journey began at an early age at Liberty Baptist and later led her to become a proud member of Church of a Living God Temple 290, where she dedicated over 40 years of her life to her spiritual community.

A multi-faceted individual, Dewene was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Her warm and welcoming nature made her a cherished presence in the lives of those around her.

Dewene was preceded in death by her fathers Duane Beard and Aaron Johnson, grandson Ducovin Jackson, brother-in-laws Jack Thrower III and Edward Neal, as well as grandparents Erma Jean Anderson “Little grandma” and Robert Anderson.

She is survived by her mother Mary Johnson, siblings Aaron Johnson Jr., Jean Neal, Robert Beard, Bennita Miller, Brenda Beard, Linda Beard, Shelly (Larry) Ford, and Ryan Sealy. Dewene's legacy continues through her children Donald (Tia) Jackson, Kristie Withers, Calvin Withers, Brent (Sandra) Withers, Hugh Ervin, Fawnesha (Kay) Wilson-Nurse, Lacy Wilson, Kali Ervin, D.J. Wright, and Tyler (Logan) Wilson. Her 5 grandchildren—Steven Coronado, Juan Jackson, Jaedyn Jackson, Sanai Wilson, Ayanna Jackson—and great-granddaughter A’moura Foster. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family expresses eternal gratitude for the shared time and cherished memories with Dewene. As she rests in the arms of the Lord, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her love, warmth, and boundless creativity.
