Celebrating the Life of Dora Elaine Pettit

Dora Elaine Pettit was born September 19, 1955, to Ora Lee Pettit and George Pettit both from  Oklahoma City. She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Green Pastures Church of Christ and became a member of People’s church where she kept her faith. Dora attended Dungee High School and graduated from Crooked Oak CLASS OF 1973! After graduation she moved to California where she worked and retired from MacDonald Douglass Helicopter Union. After retirement she moved back to Oklahoma City to help her siblings care after their dear mother. Dora was a loving, caring mother, grandmother sister, and friend. She loved spending time with all her siblings, her children and grandchildren.  Dora was loved by many and most knew her as “Momma Dora” She leaves to mourn her beautiful daughters Derlonda Osborne, Deshan Pettit, Dania Pettit-Cook, and Diamond Pettit. Her son in laws Midarreon Cook and Ronald Rankin, All from Oklahoma City. Dora leaves to cherish her sisters Thelma Laviolette (Georgia), Patricia Christopher (Georgia), Linda Pettit, Carolyn Rhone, Georgianna Rhone, her brothers Zell Anderson, Kenneth Pettit, and Maurice Pettit all from Oklahoma City. She proceeded in death by her mother and father Ora Lee Pettit, and George Pettit, granddaughter Lorynn Stead, her sisters Charlesetta Uzzi, Vester Pettit Jhonnie Hardiman and Varvel (Bobbie) Pettit. Brothers Otis Pettit and Clearance Pettit, all from Oklahoma City. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews, family and remarkable friends.
