Biography: Forrest Elgin Johnson Jr. Dobe was born July 16, 1959 to Forrest Elgin Johnson Sr. and Thelma Stephen Portis in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dobe was the youngest of five children to this union. He grew up in Carverdale neighborhood addition and attended Edwards Elementary, Kennedy Junior High, and Douglass High School. Dobe joined the U.S. Army in 1977 and after this service; he made a career in Auto Paint and Body for over thirty years until he fell ill. He is the father of three children; Brandon Johnson, Maison Johnson whom he raised by himself since Maison was two months old, and Kylan Shelton, also a godson TreVyone Willis. Forrest was always cheerful, joking, talkative, and friendly to everyone he met. He was always telling his family that he loved them and he was loved by all of his family. His father Forrest Elgin Johnson Sr. preceded him in death. Dobe leaves to cherish in his memory his mother, Thelma Portis, stepmother, Treda Johnson; his sons: Brandon (Bryson grandson) Johnson of Fort Worth, TX and Maison Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Kylan Shelton of Oklahoma City, OK; his two brothers: Joe (Bobbie) Emery and Jerry Johnson of Oklahoma City; his five sisters: Sharon Kernal, of Oklahoma City, OK, Deborah Howard of Nashville, TN, Marilyn (Bill) Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, and Phyllis Johnson and Stacy Johnson, both of Oklahoma City, OK. He also leaves to cherish in his memory, aunts: Lucille Morgan, Lena Stephens, Mary Stephens, Erma Stephens; one uncle, Tom (Berniece) Stephens; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
