Hassan Muhammad Obituary

Rickey was born November 1, 1953 to George and Edna Jackson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was the fourth of nine children; Geraldine, George Earl, Frank, Warren, Calvin, Steve, William and Camille. He received Christ at a young age.  Baptized as an infant at Fairview Baptist and again at age twelve at Greater Cleaves Memorial CME church and he continued to worship and expand his relationship with God throughout his early life.  As a child he was known for his sense of humor and large laughter.

After graduating from Northeast High School in 1971, Rickey attended Langston University. After college Rickey worked for a few companies and held a couple of professions including launching an interior design business, a commercial truck driver and phlebotomist as well as owning a taxicab; prior to an early retirement for medical reasons.

Rickey married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Denise Dixon and although this union ended in divorce; they were blessed with two sons. One of his most proud moments was the birth of his children Erik James Jackson and Jeremy Hassan Jackson.

Rickey’s smile lit up the room and brought joy. He had happy interactions with those he came in contact with. Rickey was outspoken, brutally honest and loyal while having a kind spirit. He was a great brother, uncle, father and friend. Rickey extended his hand to all of his family and friends. He embraced his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends with genuine respect and compassion.

As an adult, Rickey converted to Islam and changed his name to Hassan United States Muhammad. He spent much time exploring his new religion, gaining a better understanding of the Qur’an and relationship with Allah. Hassan was also very political and even ran for mayor in the early 1980’s.

Hassan went home to be with our Lord on Friday morning, January 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Jackson; his siblings Geraldine, George Earl, Frank and Warren and Steve.

Hassan leaves to cherish his precious memories, his siblings Calvin of the residence, William (Tracey) resides in Midlothian, VA, Camille Johnson of Oklahoma City; his children Erik James and Jeremy Hassan both of Oklahoma City. A host of aunts, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
