Jamal Wilson Obituary

A Celebration of Life

Jamal Steve Wilson, Sr.
September 26, 1990 – November 23, 2024

With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we honor the extraordinary life of Jamal Steve Wilson, Sr., who departed this life on November 23, 2024. Born on September 26, 1990, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Richard Wilson Sr. and Nicole Williams, Jamal was a beacon of resilience and strength. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina altered the course of their lives, Jamal and his family relocated to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he continued to shine his unique light.

Jamal was many things—a devoted son, loving husband, dedicated father, caring brother, and steadfast friend. To know Jamal was to experience an infectious joy that radiated from his soul. His winning grin could light up the darkest of rooms, and his contagious laugh was a melody that drew others into its warmth. Ever the jokester, Jamal had a knack for making people smile—even with his playful antics, like the signature “finger in the ear” move that only he could make endearing.

Jamal was a lover of all things New Orleans. His heart forever beat to the rhythm of his hometown, and his passion for the city was undeniable. From the soulful music to the flavorful cuisine, Jamal carried a piece of New Orleans wherever he went. Above all, he adored his beloved New Orleans Saints, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. His love for the Saints reflected his unwavering loyalty and deep connection to his roots.

Jamal was not just a man of humor; he was a man of heart. He lifted spirits wherever he went, providing love, encouragement, and strength to all those blessed to know him. His legacy of kindness and joy is a treasure that will forever enrich the lives of his family and friends.

Jamal’s memory will live on through the love of his wife, Nikko Wilson, and their beloved children, Jamariyon Wilson, La’Niaya King, Levi Wilson, and Jamal Wilson Jr. He is also deeply mourned by his parents, Richard Wilson Sr. and Nicole Williams, and his siblings, Richard Wilson Jr. and Denise Wilson. Jamal’s family and extended community of friends will forever cherish his vibrant spirit and the countless ways he brought joy into their lives.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find solace in knowing that Jamal’s life was lived with purpose, laughter, and love. He taught us all the power of resilience, the beauty of compassion, and the value of family.

“Though the shadows of grief may stretch out, God’s light pierces through, reminding us that even in our deepest sorrows, His love and grace remain unyielding.”

Jamal Steve Wilson Sr., your love, laughter, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those you touched. Rest in the eternal peace and joy you so richly deserve until we meet again.
