James Leo McLaurin was born on May 3, 1955 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Boysie and Otis McLaurin.
He attended page Elementary in Guthrie, and moved to Oklahoma City where he attended Dewey Elementary, Harding Middle School, and graduated from Northeast High School in 1973.
James joined the United States Navy in 1973, and upon his return he went to work for General Motors. He was united with Nell Locust and to that union two children were born, Enark and Pecola.
In 1995, he met Judy Lynette. They were married on April 11, 2008. He joined Greater Mt. Lebanon Church in 2010.
After he was no longer able to work, James enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, shooting pool, playing dominoes, and being around his friends, and there were many.
James is preceded in death by his mother and father, Boysie and Otis; a brother, Lee Robinson; and a sister Linda McLaurin.
James leaves to mourn his sister, Aquanetta; brothers: Everett and Byron McLaurin; daughters: Pecola, Laciesha; sons: Enark, Brandon, Willie; seven grandchildren: LaQwan, DeWon, Brandon, James, Traqawn, La'Torria, Maya, Mila; two great grandchildren: Camille and Talayah; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; his very favorite sister-in-law, Anita Starnes (Penny); and cousin, Ernest Porter.
