John Anthony Ogles made his grand entrance on April 25, 1956, in Tarrant County, Texas to Ramona Jefferson. At the age of six months, he was gifted to Earnest and Ernestine Ogles of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he was received into a loving family. This family included his grandparents, Alonzo and Minnie Holt of Spencer, Oklahoma. John attended Northwest Classen High School. After graduation, he joined the army for a few years and then received training for CDL driving.
John went on to marry Vandora Mann and the two of them resided in Oklahoma City and had two children.
Although most of John's family called him Anthony, John was always very proud of his full name. Anyone who knew him could tell you he always stated his complete name when asked or when he was introduced to someone. He wasn't just John, or John Ogles. Oh no. He was John Anthony Ogles and he said it with great pride.
John was known for never being afraid to voice his opinion. You didn't have to agree with him, but he was going to let you know exactly how he felt about the matter. He was also known for his noise talking before, during and after games where he would defend his Denver Broncos. Another great characteristic of John's was his humor. John could light up a room with his quick wit and would then join in on the laughter about something he said. He was also known to call his daughters, get into a disagreement with one of them, laugh and then tell them, “Get off my phone. You're on my minutes”.
