Lewis D. Griffin, Jr.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
Lewis D. Griffin, Jr., born on September 7, 1973, transitioned from labor to reward on September 30, 2025, at the age of 52. A strong, faithful, and loving man, Lewis lived his life with a quiet confidence and deep devotion to God, family, and community.
Lewis was a devoted father to his three beloved children — Raegan, Serenity, and Lewis Griffin III — who were the joy and purpose of his life. He also shared a beautiful bond of love and companionship with his fiancée, Demona Guient, who stood faithfully by his side through life’s highs and lows. His family was his heartbeat, and he took pride in being a provider, protector, and constant source of encouragement.
Throughout his career as a sales representative, Lewis was known for his professionalism, integrity, and ability to connect with everyone he met. He treated his clients like family and his coworkers like brothers and sisters, leaving behind relationships rooted in respect and trust.
From his early days, Lewis’s strength and discipline shined through athletics. A talented high school football player who went on to play at the college level, he carried the lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership into every aspect of his life. Off the field, he remained a loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, cheering passionately and proudly.
Lewis was also known for his gifts beyond sports — particularly in the kitchen. He was a master home cook, turning ordinary meals into memorable gatherings filled with laughter and love. Whether it was a hearty Sunday dinner or a quick dish for friends, his food carried his signature warmth and joy. A skilled domino player, he could light up any room with friendly competition, laughter, and connection.
Above all, Lewis carried himself as a man of faith, love, and humility. His heart was generous, his spirit was kind, and his presence was powerful yet peaceful. He lived his life with quiet strength and left behind a legacy of integrity, compassion, and faith in God.
Lewis was preceded in death by his father, Lewis D. Griffin Sr.; grandparents, George and Clementine Richardson; brother, Billy Gene Cooks Jr.; and his stepfather, Billy Gene Cooks Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Shirley Cooks; grandmother, Flora Mae Stevenson-Dewberry; his beloved children, Raegan, Serenity, and Lewis Griffin III; sisters, Kimberly Couts, Clemeyia Davis, and Jacienda Griffin; special cousin and brother in heart, Lamont Richardson; cousin, Ramona Moore; and his devoted fiancée, Demona Guient. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and countless friends who loved him deeply.
Lewis will be remembered for his love of family, passion for cooking, devotion to his children, and his unwavering faith. Though his earthly journey has ended, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
