Lewis Edwards Mitchell Jr. was born July 11, 1979, to Lewis Edward Sr. and Kimberly Renee Mitchell in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lewis was an only child and was called home on August 7, 2020 at 5 :52 p.m. at his home. He was preceded in death by his father Lewis Sr., maternal grandmother Sister Mildred J. Brooks; paternal grandmother Frances Glaze; paternal grandfather Joseph Mitchell; maternal uncle Sgt. Douglas E. Wilson; paternal aunt and uncle Birdie J. Mitchell and Bruce W. Mitchell.

Buddy/Slick/Poot, as he was known by his family members became a dedicated Christian at an early age. He attended St., Mark Mission Baptist Church, Oklahoma City where he served in the Choir and Usher Board. A very active and dedicated servant, he was baptized at an early age. Lewis became a member of My Father's House C.O.G.I.C., New Chance City, Oklahoma until his passing.

Lewis attended Oklahoma City Public Schools from elementary until his graduation in 1998 from N. W. Classen High School.

Lewis held down many jobs; call center/customer service jobs at Sprint, Cox Cable and AT&T until his health failed and he became disabled in 2012.

Lewis was an outgoing person who loved to be around people. Lewis didn't play games because he believed in being righteous and fair, sometimes his kindness was taken for weakness. He maintained a positive attitude and was very outgoing! He loved to be around people, he was the life of every engagement with his family and through it all, he was a joy to be around and he knew no strangers! Master of problem solving, his passion was helping out unconditionally.

Lewis is survived by his mother Kimberly R. Mitchell; sisters: Karen Montgomery, Kathy (Bones) and Sheila (Boo) Brooks; maternal uncle, Henry Wilson Jr. (Rita); Lewis is survived by his paternal great aunt Gracie Perry, Aunt Donna Glaze and a host of loving cousins, family and friends; four special cousins: Darveyona Gresham, Emmanuel, Tianna and Keyon Turner; special sisters: Regina Stafford ( daughter of mine), April Deaver (Tom), Kochera Douglas-Brandt (Steve), Chrystal Hill, Abreanna and Austyn Williams; and a special mum Cynthia Stafford.
