Michael Andre Grant

On May 30, 1974 Michael Andre Grant-Cartwright was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Casey Cartwright and Claudia E. Jenkins. He went on to our heavenly father on June 26, 2023 at the age of 49. Michael grew up in Oklahoma City and Binger, OK where he made lifelong friends. He had a special relationship with Christ and shared His grace with those who knew him best. Michael was the second oldest child but took charge of the family and no one could tell him different. Michael educated himself wise beyond his years. He obtained his associates degree in IT where he worked a few years at Hewlett Packard until he realized working in a building was not for him. He opened his own business Wright Roofing and Gutters where he worked on his own time and on his own terms. He was a master of many trades. His family reaped the benefits of his accomplishments as his work can be seen in many of our homes whether it be new flooring, gutters or a host of other works. Michael was an amazing man. He was passionate, opinionated, determined, intelligent and incredibly genuine. He loved to talk and give you a piece of his mind. He took all his roles seriously whether it was husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin or big dawg as he was called by his friends. Everyone felt his love and embraced the magic of who he was. Whenever his family needed him, no questions asked and no matter how big or small or how many miles he had to travel, he was there. Heaven received a true angel. He is greeted in heaven by his father and bonus mother Casey and Denise Cartwright, his grandparents Laura Grant, Edward and Bernice Cartwright and his uncle Sonny Grant. Michael will be deeply missed by his wife and partner of 30 years Alisha Grant, his mother and stepfather Claudia E. “Lisa” and Barry Jenkins; his children Niesha Smith, Spenser Fields and Ashley Austin; his grandchildren Jalen Austin, Gregory (Tre) Austin, Sierra Fields, Sa’Niah Fields, Savanna Fields and Kingston Watson; his siblings Toni Grant-Cartwright, Casey Cartwright, Angela Cartwright-Ray (Antwine), Daisha Cartwright-Woods (Karen) and Devin Cartwright; niece Ericka Jones; nephews Malachi Ray and Harper Ray; and host of cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
