A Life Well Lived
In loving memory of Otis Smith (June 9, 1944 – July 10, 2024), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Otis touched the lives of many with his selfless love and unwavering dedication to those around him. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own, making everyone feel special, seen, and heard. His love was both loud and private, always sincere and profound.
Born in Grant, Oklahoma, to Atrual and Dora Smith, Otis later moved to Oklahoma City with the help of his loving uncle Bernice and aunt Jewel Rucker. He graduated from Dungee High School and dedicated 30 years of his life to Roadway Trucking Services, embodying the values of hard work and discipline.
Otis was an amazing father to his two daughters, Leisa Smith of Oklahoma City and Dr. Tamra C. Smith of Dallas, Texas. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Mary Smith, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and countless cherished memories.
Otis had a zest for life that was truly infectious. He was known for his compassionate nature, giving spirit, and deep love for family. His El Camino, a special vehicle that he adored, symbolized his love for life and the joy he found in simple pleasures.
Proceeding him in death are his wife Mary Smith, grandson Atrual Evyn Robinson, his father Atrual Charles Smith, mother Dora Smith, sister Doris Smith, brothers Willie and Alford Smith, nieces Helen, Rene, and Sonya Smith, and his uncle Bernice and aunt Jewel Rucker. He leaves behind his loving wife Mary Smith, his daughters Leisa and Tamra, his sister Patricia Smith of Lawton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss him dearly.
Otis’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, neighbors, and all those who were honored to have known him. His personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered, and his passing will be deeply mourned by all who loved him. Otis Smith lived a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends. His legacy of love and kindness will endure forever.
