I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
II Timothy 4:7
Phines Glen Carson, Sr."Buster" was born November 11, 1944 to Odell Carson, Sr. and Ezola (Morgan) Carson Preston in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was the second of two children born to this union.
The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1945 where he grew and attended Oklahoma City Public Schools, graduaring from Douglas High School in 1962. While at Douglas he completed the Brick Masonry Training Program. This trade set him up for his life long career as a brick layer from which he retired. He was also a butcher.
Buster accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Church of the Living God, P.G.T., under the pastorage of Elder Archie Long.
Buster united in holy matrimony with Marilyn Roberts and to this union two children were born, Phines Glen Carson, Jr. and Twyla Carson. He was later married to Rosie Carson and this marriage ended in divorce.
Buster's love in life was laughing, relaxing, and having fun. He loved playing cards, dominos; going fishing, feeding the horses, and hanging out with family and friends. His infectious, jolly, baritone laugh, and upbeat spirit, will forever be missed.
Buster departed this life on June 29, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and brother Odell Carson, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Phines Glen Carson, Jr., daughter, Twyla Carson of Dallas, Texas, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. 1 sister, Gail Carson of California, 2 nieces: Cassandra Carson, Yolonda Carson, and 2 nephews: Kenneth Carson, Odell Carson, III, and a host of other relatives and friends.
