Sharon Nelson Obituary

Sharon Ann Nelson was born on August 14, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Gladys Mae and Milton Washington Jr. She was preceded in death by both parents. Sharon attended Douglas High School, where her passion for singing and dancing blossomed. She cherished cooking, attending church, and spending cherished moments with her loved ones. Sharon was deeply devoted to her family, joyously planning and participating in countless family gatherings. Sharon was very mighty and strong-willed, and she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

In 1981, she married Albert Nelson Jr. (deceased), and together they were blessed with three children. On June 22, 2024, Sharon peacefully answered God's call to reunite with Him. She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Sharris Menefee (Daughter), Cory Menefee (Son-in-Law), Kimberly Nelson (Daughter), Antwain Nelson (Son), and Lashanda Nelson (Daughter-in-Law).

Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Milton Washington III, Bob Harris Jr. (deceased), Donnell Hardimon, Connell Hardimon, Robin Lewis, Zachary Lewis (deceased), Raymond Washington, Linda Stafford, Paula Thomas, Larry Washington, Phyllis Reed, Keith Washington (deceased), and step-sister Onedia Dean. She leaves behind memories with her aunts: Shirley Jean, Carol Washington, and Kay Washington.

She is cherished and remembered by her grandchildren: Alexis (Deondre), Diquan, Juwan, Charlay, Brianne, Chantis, Deondre, Shaquita, Arque, Shamar, Shamaree, Kwandre, Emontie, Brazilia, Elontae, and Monique, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Sharon's legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
