Obituary for William "JR" Lloyd

It is with loving remembrance that we announce the passing of William "JR" Lloyd, age 41, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who left us unexpectedly on July 27th, 2025. JR was a hardworking truck driver, a devoted husband, and a true family man who brought joy to everyone around him through his laughter, generosity, and passion for life.

JR worked as a truck driver for Gore Nitrogen, where he was known for his reliability and dedication to his job. Outside of work, he enjoyed being part of numerous car groups and had a special talent for building and racing RC cars. His creativity and determination were reflected in everything he did, and he loved to share his knowledge with others.

In April 2025, JR married the love of his life, Kendra Lloyd. Together, they formed a beautiful family, and JR embraced his role as a bonus father to Kendra's daughter, Alecia Northcutt, with all his heart. He cherished Alecia, and his love for her was limitless.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Mary Ward; his sisters, Kimberly Ward and her husband Joe Helm of Sandoval, Illinois, and Mellisa Ferguson and her husband Leroy Ferguson of Gurdon, Arkansas; his brother, Shawn Ward of Crestview, Florida; and his brother, Aaron Lloyd of St. Elmo, Illinois. JR also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and close friends who considered him a brother. He was preceded in death by his father, William Leroy Lloyd Sr.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at the visitation, which will be held on August 8th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on August 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Fifth Street Church in Oklahoma City, OK, with Mike Booth officiating.

In honor of JR's spirit and love for the road, we share this prayer he would often say before hitting the highway:

A Trucker's Prayer

Dear Lord, please watch over me today,
As I drive these long and winding roads.
Grant me strength, patience, and the wisdom to find
Safe passage, no matter where I go.

Please keep me alert and safe from harm,
Guide my hands, my heart, and my soul.
May my tires roll smoothly, my load be light,
And bring me home to those I love tonight.

Amen.

JR's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, and a spirit that will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
